RIN 2024 – who will you meet there?

10-year Anniversary of Jobson James Rail, The Rail Broker

In April 2023 it will be exactly 10 years since I created our brand Jobson James Rail, The Rail Broker. I set out to provide a quality insurance and advice service to the railway supply chain and we have come a long way in 10 years. I had worked for a range of railway-related and aggregate-related businesses for 10 years, including Aggregate Industries, Mendip Rail, Charcon, RFS and others, and saw a gap in the market for a true rail expert advisor with genuine railway contract knowledge to support the railway supply chain.

It used to be just me as the sole rail expert with a couple of back office staff, but now I am blessed to have a team of highly qualified and highly knowledgeable rail expert Client Managers, who many of you know. So let me name them: Clare Brecknell, Tim Smith, John McNeill, Richard Allen and our Sales and Marketing Manager Antoinette Stevenson. I would like to thank all of the clients and other rail industry professionals that have supported us in that decade of hard work.

I would also like to thank our Trade Association supporters, namely the Railway Industry Association, the Rail Forum, the Permanent Way Institution and our marketing company Rail Business Daily. We have grown to become the market leading insurance and contractual advisor, and it’s been quite a journey. We now support 550 railway clients
and are growing every month…..

Happy days and sunshine at Rail Live for Jobson James team

The Jobson James Rail team had a brilliant time in the glorious sunshine at Rail Live. It was fantastic to catch up with so many rail colleagues, clients and friends over the two days and to meet with new contacts too.

Thanks to everyone who stopped at our stand to say hello, it was great to see you all!

March 2022 RIN London hailed a fantastic success.

Once again the JJRail team booked the Business Design Centre London near Kings Cross for a sell out RIN Event.  Great support from our major buyers Amco, Alstom, Balfour Beatty Oak Common Station, Hitachi Rail, Laing O’Rourke, Morgan Sindall, TFL and Network Rail Product Acceptance.

Footfall well over 400 and over 200 railway companies represented.

Appointment of Antoinette Stevenson Sales and Marketing Manager.

January 2022 we are very pleased to announce Antoinette’s appointment following Mavis Barrett’s retirement from the rail industry. Following a broad career in Marketing Sales and Recruitment, Antoinette has spent the last ten years working in Education.

She firmly believes that people and businesses grow by learning and not just by knowing. She is already up to speed with much of the rail jargon the team use every day. Antoinette is from Cheltenham, a keen camper and enjoys outdoor family adventures with her husband, daughters and Digger the dog.

RIN has proved the ideal platform for rail companies

RIN’s North West event, held at the DW Stadium in Wigan is the next event in the series of highly popular networking events, and is due to take place on Thursday 9th May from 9:30am to 12:30pm.

Rail Infrastructure Networking (RIN) is a quarterly event which brings together professionals from all corners of the rail industry in a different Rail Town each time. It has a relaxed atmosphere which appeals to visitors, who can turn up and leave when they please. Events are not for profit and entirely free from sales pitches, which has ensured their popularity has grown with each event as the visitors and exhibitors have plenty of time to discuss mutual opportunities and what makes each business unique.
Companies from across the rail infrastructure industry take advantage of the opportunity to explain their services to Principle Contractors and other buyers in the room 121.
At just £175 (including VAT) it’s an inexpensive way for Rail SME companies to gain valuable new contacts, which can lead to profitable and sustainable relationships.

RIN is organised by Jobson James Rail, a specialist railway insurance broker. Director of Jobson James Rail, Keven Parker, said: “It’s great to see such a diverse range of rail infrastructure companies take such an interest in RIN. For exhibitors, there can’t be many more cost-effective ways to raise their profile, its mainly cost people their
time and most have had valuable leads from our event.”

Record-breaking attendance at RIN Derby

The RIN event held at Derby in November 2017 proved to be a real record breaker.

Held at Derby County FC’s Ipro Stadium, RIN Derby was attended by around 350 rail professionals from all over the country.

The city of Derby has strong historic links with the rail industry, which proved part of the attraction for attendees keen to meet like-minded professionals to develop business opportunities.

Exhibitor numbers at RIN Derby rose to 82 and were fully sold out, while around 200 railway companies were represented at the event.

Event organiser Keven Parker, of Jobson James Rail, said: “With footfall on the day up to 350 people, this really was a great event – breaking records in terms of numbers and exceeding our expectations.

“RIN continues to go from strength to strength, in large part because people are able to develop tangible and valuable partnerships via connections that they have made at RIN.”

RIN London continues to get bigger and better

Bringing key people from the rail sector together has just got even bigger and better after RIN London announced a change of venue.

From February 2018 RIN London switches to the Business Design Centre, in Islington, near Kings Cross.

RIN events are a quarterly networking opportunity organised by Jobson James Rail, and we’re able to add value to the organisation of events through our specialist knowledge of the sector. Each event takes place in a different part of the UK, in cities with links to the rail industry.

The events attract hundreds of delegates and exhibitors, offering the opportunity to meet other rail professionals and develop new business relationships.

Keven Parker, event organiser from Jobson James Rail and the man who came up with the idea of RIN, said: “The new venue works very well. RIN events are now firmly established and we know that, as RIN London triples in size from before, we require a venue which can meet that level of growth whilst at the same time will give us the flexibility to continue to make each event bigger and of genuine value to people within the rail industry.”

RIN continues to grow with successful event in York

Rail Infrastructure Networking’s (RIN) most recent event in York was a huge success, with delegate and exhibitor numbers reaching record levels.

The event took place at the Network Rail Training Centre in York, just down the road from the National Railway Museum and York station. Hundreds of visitors made the most of this opportunity to meet other rail industry professionals and foster new business partnerships, and feedback from attendees has been extremely positive.

RIN continues to be one of the UK’s leading free networking events for the rail industry, with quarterly events held across the UK. The next event will take place at the Derby County Pride Park in Derby on 30th November 2017.
